The Difference

A democracy reflects majority rule in a dispassionate way. A republic reflects the needs of the majority, but also protects the rights of minorities.

America is a republic.

I know these right wing hate groups that claim they speak for higher authorities know the difference. But they need to hide this and other facts, and instead cloud civil rights issues, like marriage equality, behind slight of hand and marketing tricks.

Do I sound catty? Are my comments bitchy?

Yes. Hypocrisy does that to me.
